Anita Gay Zachary, 68, of New Castle died unexpectedly Sunday, February 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born August 8, 1953 in Henry County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Raymond T. and Bernita (Davis) Zachary.
She was a 1971 graduate of Shenandoah High School. Anita had been employed at Westpoint Stevens, formerly Liebhardt Mills in Middletown. She was a home health aide for several years, and loved her dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Stewart (Teddy Garner) of Mooreland; three grandchildren, Mikey Perkins, Jr. of New Castle, Jasper Nigh of Mooreland and Austin Nigh of Mooreland; two sisters, Ramona Zachary of New York, New York and Ruth (David) Norris of Anderson; two brothers, Melvin (Joy) Zachary of Honeycreek and Phillip (Donna) Zachary of Middletown; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Davis Zachary.
