Barbara Colleen Johnson

Barbara Colleen Johnson passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at The Willows of New Castle after an extended illness. She was born December 20, 1941 in Albany Kentucky. She was a daughter of Alves and Irene (Ferguson) Pennycuff.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She devoted much of her life to caring for others, working as a CNA, and a home healthcare provider for many years. She had a special heart for the elderly and found purpose in looking after those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 2 brothers, Donald and Howard Pennycuff, an infant sister Janet, and infant son Steven HallGuinn.

Barbara is survived by her 2 daughters Tammy Goodin, Sheild (Tim) Dice, she also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Rachel (Ryan) Borsen, Ben (Amy) Dice, Sarah (Justin) Stinson, Quentin (Katherine) Goodin, Collin (Ashley) Goodin, and Cameron (Jordan) Goodin. She was further blessed with great-grandchildren: Kassady and Kyle Rader, Avery and Claire Borsen, Hunter and Madeline Stinson, Austin (Bella) Fowler, Madie, Mason, Ava, Colson, Grant, Ellis and Andie Goodin and 2 great great-grandchildren Brooks and Saylor.

Barbara was also survived by her sister Cardyn Huddleston and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend Linda Guinn.

Barbara will be remembered for her caring spirit, love for the Lord, dedication to family, and the compassion she showed throughout her life.

In accordance with Barbara's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service will be handling burial arrangements. Her family will honor her life privately holding close the memories and love they shared.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's honor to a breast cancer organization of the donor's choice.
