Barbara Jean Maze

Barbara Jean (Daily) Maze, 92, of New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Henry County Community Health. Born on January 29, 1933, in Evansville, Indiana, Barbara was the daughter of the late Herbert and Velma (Greer) Daily.

She was a 1950 graduate of Lewisville High School and attended The Cadiz Christian Church.

Barbara had a lifelong love for dogs and always had a faithful companion by her side. She had worked as a realtor with Rose City Realty and later partnered with her husband, Jack, in operating Maze Claims Services.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jack Maze II of New Castle and Rick Maze of New Castle; grandchildren, Kristen, Chanda, Darin, Andy, and Melissa; several great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson on the way; cousin, Jackie Hoff of Texas; brother-in-law, Mike (Mikey) Maze of New Castle; nieces, Leann Steers, Colleen (Todd) Myers; and her beloved canine companion, Mandy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Maze; sons, Mike Maze (2009) and Brent Maze (1983); brother- and sister-in-law Terry and Lois Maze; niece, Teresa Maze; nephew, James Maze.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday December 9, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:30am until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.
