Betty Lou Cordle

Betty Lou Cordle, 84, of Shirley passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Community Hospital in Anderson. She was born April 10, 1939 in Ashland, Kentucky a daughter of Bill and Margaret (Salyers) Blevins.

Betty graduated from High School in Russell, KY. She retired from the Indiana State Hospital after 18 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, canning, fishing and trips to the casino. Betty especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also loved watching baseball and college basketball, particularly the Butler Bulldogs.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 67 years, Paul “Jeek” Cordle of Shirley; children, Michael (Linda) Cordle of Flatwoods, KY, Victor (Rachel) Cordle of Flatwoods, KY, Jerry (Mary) Cordle of Middletown, Todd (Tammy) Cordle of Carthage and Drema Cordle of Knightstown; grandchildren, Jason Cordle, Haley Bowden, Hollie Cordle, Amy Mason, Casey Cordle, Hannah Cordle, Seth Cordle, Cole Cordle, Richie Nelson, Sascha Kinney, Kassandra Jarrett, Shelby Wayman, and Ryan Wayman; nine great grandchildren; siblings, Randall (Diane) Blevins of Ironville, KY; Virgil “Cub” (Brenda) Blevins of Noblesville, Gus Blevins of Ironville, KY, Charlotte (Ray) Counts of Memphis, TN, Ramona Bader of Muncie and Herbie (Lynn) Harris of FL; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, William E. “Sonny” Blevins, Jr. and Lana Collier.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Bill Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Hedrick Cemetery.
