Betty L. House-Baugh, 94, of New Castle passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at The Waters of New Castle. On September 17, 1932, Betty was born in Maple Valley located in Henry County, IN, a daughter of the late Herman and Emma (Brooks) Morris.
Betty was a 43-year member of Cadiz Christian Church, where she faithfully served on the Finance Team for 29 years. She was employed by Perfect Circle for 11 years and, following the death of her husband, John, worked for five years at Myers Furniture and Appliances. She retired in 1999 as a secretary for the Correctional Industrial Facility in Pendleton, Indiana.
Betty had a lifelong love of bowling and participated in a bowling league for 50 years. During much of that time, she served as secretary-treasurer and was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Bowling League in Henry County. Her passion for bowling took her to state and national tournaments throughout the country.
In her spare time, Betty enjoyed quilting and reading. She especially treasured the friendships she made over the years and looked forward to meeting a group of friends known as “The Lunch Bunch” for lunch every Tuesday, a tradition she enjoyed for over 25 years.
Betty is survived by her two children, Kay (John) Clark of Granger, IN and John “Bill” (Cristi) House of Athens, GA; step-children, Anita (Jim) Razor of Athens, GA and Lisa Harmon of New Castle; grandchildren, Chris (Emily) Razor of Ocala, FL, Brenton (Tifani) Razor of Athens, GA, Andy (Laura) Razor of New Hampshire, Kendall (Zack) Powell of New Castle, and Megan (Andy) Hoyt of Middletown; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Gage Horselooking of Middletown, Luke Razor of Yorktown, Emelia Razor of Tennessee, Kaitlin Razor of New Hampshire, Mason Powell of New Castle and Macklin Razor of Athens, GA; sister, Maxine Thompson of Waverly, OH; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. House; second husband, Carlos Baugh; grandparents, Cecil and Myrtle Morris and Frank Brooks; sisters, Cara West and Patricia Bell; brothers, Joseph Morris and Robert Morris.
Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service on Wednesday. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cadiz Christian Church, 4894 State Rd 38, New Castle, IN 47362.
