Billy Marshall Bertram

Billy Marshall Bertram, 77, of New Castle passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born January 30, 1948 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Henry and Dorothy (Bell) Bertram.

Bill worked at Dana in New Castle for over 20 years, then later graduated from Ball State University, earning his Bachelors Degree. He later worked as a Q.M.R.P. at Snug Harbor. Bill was a “one in a million” type of guy who was an all-around good man that always cared for his family and ones close to him. He enjoyed flipping houses, golfing, playing the guitar, and spending time with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 13 years, Daphne Bertram; children, Vince Bertram, Angie Bertram-Smith (Steve Laurie), Devon Bertram, Amber Block (Dan Hecimovich) and Tianna Bertram; grandchildren, Brock (Maddison) Smith, Ryan (Rachel) Bertram, Drew Bertram, Bryce (Taylor) Pinkard, Riley Bertram, Kayden Wilson and Brayden Bullock; great grandchildren, Bailee, Hansen, Dawson and Vivian Smith, Clara Bertram, Hadley and Hinsley Pinkard and one due in October that will carry Bill’s name; siblings, Brenda (Steve) Abbott, Kathy Bertram, Wallace (Phyllis) Bertram and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bonnie (Jack) Piercy, Sue (Harold) Piercy, Warren and Bob Bertram; and a nephew, Little Jack Piercy.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Gary McCutchen officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
