Billy D. Catron

Billy D. Catron, 61, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born April 21, 1964 in New Castle to Billy R. and Maureen (Harney) Catron.

Billy was a 1982 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and attended Kilgore College earning his EMT-P (Paramedic) certificate where he had a genuine heart to help others. He had previously worked at Budweiser and drove a truck in the oil fields of Texas. Billy loved riding his motorcycle and all things Harley Davidson. He also loved fishing and spending time with his family, especially his daughter, where they would like to play video games together.

He is survived by his daughter, Katy Catron (Clay Ayers), grandson, Tyler Duane Catron; parents, Bill R. and Maureen H. Catron; a sister, Ginger Ragland; step-brother, Jason (Michelle) Collins; former wife, Sheila Catron; best friend, Philip (Ginger) Holland and special children, Chase, Landon, Cannon and Preslee Decker.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Golda and Willie Melton, Opal (Hatfield) Young and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
