Brad Lowell Sheets, 57, of Wilkinson, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 25, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 4, 1962 in Greenfield as the son of Katherine (Carmany) Wallace and Russell Lowell “Bus” Sheets. Brad attended Eastern Hancock High School, graduating in 1981. Brad married Elizabeth “Libby” (Kingen) on February 3, 1990.
Brad was known for his hard work, determination, and charismatic demeanor. Brad enjoyed a successful career in farming, but his real passion was in business/sales where he started as a salesman for Smith Implements (Greenfield) before founding his own business, Outdoor Power Store. He later worked at McCallister Machinery (Beech Grove) for many years before starting his second business, Seat Warehouse, which he ran up until his death. When he wasn’t working, he loved spending time with his family and friends, watching the Colts, and collecting farm equipment.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Libby” (Kingen) Sheets of Wilkinson; children, Brandon Sheets of Carmel, Jared Sheets of Wilkinson; mother, Katherine Wallace of Wilkinson, IN; brother, Tim (Vickie) Ball of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell “Bus” Sheets, and brothers Mike Ball and Rick Sheets.
“Brad was one of the hardest working people who ever lived, whether it was farming or selling equipment for himself or someone else. He started several businesses and turned them into successful operations.
Brad not only could sell refrigerators to Eskimos, he could lease them the ice cubes too. He was that successful because he was 100% honest. He was a man who did what he said he would, how he said he would, when he said he would.
The world needs more people like Brad, and we are going to miss him.”
~Allen Kingen, Father-in-Law
