Brenda G. Bulmer, age 82, of New Castle, passed away at home following a brief battle with Liver cancer. She was born December 22, 1943, in New Castle, to the late Finacy Elwood and Rosie (Bell) Logan.
Brenda was a 1962 Graduate from Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School.
Brenda began her working career as a telephone operator at Indian Bell Telephone Company in 1965 and retired after 30 years from that same company under their new name Ameritech in 1995. She also worked for AT&T. Keeping herself busy after retirement, she completed and received her certification in tax preparation from H&R Block. Brenda also worked part time at Henry County Hospital as a switchboard operator for 9 years. She also did volunteer work at the New Castle Public Library in the genealogy department, at Westminster House, and the Salvation Army where she attended church and was a member of Women’s Ministry. She grew up as a Nazarene. She loved babysitting for her grandchildren and helping with her 2 great granddaughters (her special little joys in life).
Some activities Brenda enjoyed were Bingo, attending baseball games, especially when her grandsons were playing. She loved watching Colt’s football, IU basketball and Indiana Fever games. She enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends. Brenda also attending church outings and picnics at the park. Brenda was a wonderful cook and cooked meals daily until she couldn’t. She also loved bird watching and feeding the squirrels.
Survivors include her daughter: Bethany Whybrew of New Castle; and son James Bulmer of New Castle. Her Four Grandchildren Mason and Madison Warren of New Castle; Allie and Haidyn Bulmer of New Castle. Two Great Granddaughters Mia Rose and Ireland Azalea Burris of New Castle. Two sisters, Mary (Wayne) Malone; and Loretta Sue Logan both of New Castle. Sister-in-Law Ruth Logan of North Vernon, IN. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by one brother Lloyd David Logan, North Vernon.
Services will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis and Gary Stamper officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. Private burial services will be at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
