Brenda Riggs

Brenda Riggs, 70, of Kennard passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at her residence. She was born September 17, 1953 in New Castle the daughter of Everrett and Bessie (Collins) Shelton. 

Brenda was a 1971 graduate of Knightstown High School and was a bank manager at Star Financial. She was active in Knightstown First Baptist Church and then Memorial Baptist Church in New Castle where she was a Sunday school teacher, Preschool teacher and also played the piano. She was also a supporter of Kennard Krusaders. Brenda enjoyed crafting and playing games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren; attending their sporting events and activities. Brenda was dedicated to raising her family and being the best Mimi she could be. 

She is survived by her husband, Robert Riggs; children, Brooke (Westley) Rohrer and Tyler (Kerri) Riggs; grandchildren, Lucas, Kaylee and Jase; several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Jo Shelton. 

Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Tobby Smith and Bob Lines officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
