Carina Dionne Prince

Carina Dionne Prince, 46, of New Castle passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at Henry Community Health following a brief illness. She was born July 17, 1980 in Greenfield to Rodney Claywell and Sheila (Sidwell) Stigall.

Carina was a naturally warm and gentle soul. A sweet, goofy, and fiercely loyal mother and grandmother, she adored children and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, as well as her nieces and nephews, often bonding with them over creative craft projects. Carina’s big heart and natural caretaker instincts meant she always put others before herself; she was a steadfast protector who never hesitated to stick up for anyone, and she lovingly cared for her aunt Kathy until her passing. Always ready to help those in need, she moved through life with kindness and joy, occasionally spending her spare time hunting for hidden treasures at local thrift stores.

She is survived by her parents, Rodney Claywell, Sheila Stigall; children, Joshua Levi Prince and Tammy Nichole (Dusty) Dunaway; grandchildren, Joshua Ayden Prince, Dusty Zachariah Dunaway and Vivian Josephine Dunaway; siblings, Jessica Dawn Norris (Sam Porter) and George Michael Stigall II (Abby Carrender); stepfather, George Michael Stigall I; maternal grandmother, Wilma York and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Joshua Tanner Prince; paternal grandparents, Robert and Shirley Claywell; maternal grandfather, Norman Sidwell; grandfather, Charles York and her aunt, Kathy Claywell.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Beth Stamper officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
