Carol Louise Cline Schoos, 77, of Losantville, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. She was born in Portland, IN, on March 19, 1948, to the late Lawrence Edwin and Clara Lucille (Thomas) Hiler.
Family was at the heart of Carol’s existence, guiding her actions and decisions. Despite the geographical distances that sometimes separated her from her children, she steadfastly nurtured these bonds, encouraging her loved ones to stay close and connected.
Carol embraced life with a spirited enthusiasm that was infectious to all who knew her. She had a creative flair that shone through in her hobbies, particularly her love for crafting. Whether it was creating beautiful handmade items or indulging in the sweet joy of baking, Carol's hands were always busy expressing her love. Her cookies and fudge were legendary, often bringing smiles and warmth to gatherings.
Carol also found joy in the thrill of bowling and the gentle company of her beloved cats. Standing just over five feet tall, she nevertheless drove a semi-truck with remarkable confidence, proving that strength and determination know no boundaries.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kelli Cline, Kathi (Larry) Cline, John Thomas “Tom” Cline, and Lonnie (Amy) Cline; siblings, Daniel (Judy) McNeil and Marvin “Keith” (Kelly) Hiler; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Dennis James “Jimmy” McNeil and Jean Hollingsworth.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering held by the family on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 4:00pm, at the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, located at 11531 US-35, Muncie, IN, 47302. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and cremation will take place at Hinsey Brown. Condolences and memories of Carol can be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
