Carol Sue Davis

Carol Sue Davis, 79, of Mooreland passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1946 in Gap Creek, Kentucky to the late, Nelson T. and Eva (Choate) Razor.

Carol Sue was the epitome of love and devotion—a cherished wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and loyal friend whose family was the very center of her world, always taking precedence over everything else; she radiated sweetness and kindness, never uttering a harsh word about anyone, and her generous spirit touched all who knew her. A 1964 graduate of Mt. Summit High School who went on to study at Anderson University, she spent more than three decades caring for others in the laboratory of the Henry County Clinic, where her steady professionalism mirrored the same gentle dedication she showed at home.

Her passions ranged from the quiet joy of reading—her love for books she eagerly passed on to her grandchildren—to afternoons spent at the Henry County Public Library. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, sewing, and attending the next family reunion or travel adventure; in her younger days she could often be found on the golf course, and throughout her life she attended South Memorial Drive Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Jerry “JD” Davis; sons, Aaron Davis and Tony Davis (Tonya); grandchildren, Whitney R. (Aaron) Stone Tayven and Trevin Davis; siblings, Jim (Pam) Razor, Gary “Dean” Razor; sisters-in-law, Annette and Patty Razor and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy and Kenny Razor and a sister, Becky Lawson.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
