Charles “Duane” Copeland, 69, of Spiceland passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home. He was born January 12, 1956 in New Castle to the late Charles and Charlotte (Morse) Copeland.

Duane retired from Henry County Co-op where he had worked in crops and propane deliveries in Dunreith for over 35 years. After retiring, he built a motorcycle shop where he did service and repair, mostly for Harley-Davidson bikes. He formerly owned a tire-changing shop for motorcycles along with Jeff Razor. He was a member of New Castle Eagle's Lodge and ran a motorcycle bike night at Flatlanders Grill in Hagerstown once every week. Duane’s biker friends meant the world to him and he also enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Trudi Lynn Copeland, daughter, Alyssia (Quentin) Copeland Wright of Indianapolis: sister, Barbara (Tony) Russell of Spiceland; grandchildren, Ericka, Marissa and Taylor Newby, Marlee, Georgia and Chevelle Smith; great-grandchildren, Lainie Spiker, Theodore Bates, Atticus and Gwenivere Kidd; step-daughter, Jessica Smith; his best friend Jeff Razor and childhood friends, Johnny Strong and Rick Barlow.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Dallas Ray Newby.

A celebration of life will be held for Duane at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
