Chloe Mae Sutherland

Chloe “Mae” Sutherland, 89, passed away on October 13, 2026. She was born on May 5, 1937, in Moorehead, KY, to the late Foy and Lilly (Jones) Moore.

Mae was a homemaker who took great care of her family. She came from a large family of eight children and was a twin. She enjoyed many things throughout her life and brought enthusiasm to them all. Mae was an avid bowler and enjoyed dancing. She loved George Strait music and enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, especially Stone Cold Steve Austin. She also enjoyed going to horse races, with the Kentucky Derby holding a special place among her favorites. At home, she loved her dogs and cats, whose companionship added to the comfort and happiness of daily life.

Above all else, Mae loved her family and her grandkids most of all. The love she gave was often expressed in the special sayings those close to her will always remember: “you are my sunshine” and “I love you to the moon and back.”

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lisa (Bruce) Petty and Ronna Faucett; grandchildren, Erin Winchester-Linville, Jocelyn Faucett, and Caleb (Savannah) Petty; great grandchildren, Braden Linville, Eli Linville, Jace Petty, Nora Petty, and Ryker Cale; great greatgrandchild, Daisy May Linville; siblings, Carolyn McCauley and Marilyn Deam; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald Sutherland; and 5 siblings.

Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Pastor John Tyner officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service on Friday.
