Claude D. Hinton, 86, of New Castle passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on September 3, 1939, in Soldier, KY to the late Dennis and Rosa (Jennings) Hinton.

At the age of two Claude and his family moved to New Castle. He grew up attending the Church of God where his father Pastored. Claude worked for Delco Remy and retired after 28 years of service. He enjoyed going fishing and working out in the yard. In Claude’s most recent years he loved watching sports on the TV with his great grandson.

Claude is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Dorothy Elaine Hinton; children, Tracy (Sandi) Hinton and Trena (Randy) Morgan; daughter-in-law, Connie Hinton; grandchildren, Travis, Joshua, Tara, Jeremiah, John, Joseph, Nathan, Justin and Spencer; many great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; nieces, Shalinda (Danny) Silvers and Andrea Powers and 2 great nieces.

In addition to his parents, Claude is preceded in death by a son, Anthony Claude Hinton and brother, Ray Hinton.

Services will be on Tuesday April 28, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Brother Danny Silvers officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service. You may share a memory or express a condolence for Claude at www.hinsey-brown.com.
