Daniel O. Rodgers of Indianapolis, IN, died March 5, 2024 peacefully in the comfort of family and to welcoming arms at heaven’s gate at age 96. Dan was born December 5, 1927 in Washington, Indiana to Earl and Clare Rodgers. Over many decades, he was a faithful member of many churches around the globe, also serving as a deacon and minister. He dearly loved all his churches. His smooth, charming, and slightly southern style captured the attention of all that knew him. His passion for reading and goodwill led him to be a pillar of strength and excellent communicator. His love of country is evident by his 27-year service to the US Air Force.
The Love of his life was Anna, his dear wife of 65 years who passed nearly nine years ago. Eagerly, they roamed the globe together, raised their family and spread cheer to all. Until Dan’s last moment, Anna was near to his lips and heart. As a pair, they were always willing to go, help, and create a better tomorrow.
Dan is survived by his loving children Alan (Gail) Rodgers, Gary (Angela) Rodgers, and Gina Rodgers; grandchildren Andrew, Shiloh, and Jeremy Rodgers, Allison Jefferson, Ryan Loughmiller, Brittany Padgett, Alex and Mallory Hodgkin, as well as 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by one sister Cynthia (Phil) Farnsley and was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Saturday, April 13 at the clubhouse of Lions Head Condominiums, 7352 Lions Head Drive, Indianapolis, IN. Please join us for refreshments and bring memories to share. RSVP if you can attend to
