Deborah "Debbie" Ellen Smith

Deborah “Debbie” Ellen Smith, 71, of New Castle passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Reid Hospital. She was born on June 23, 1954, in New Castle to the late Melvin Lee and Thelma Louise (Thompson) Goble.

Known for her infectious smile and her genuine love for everyone that she met, Debbie never encountered a stranger. She loved family camping, fishing trips and travelling with her husband Randall. In 1971 Randall and Debbie started the family business Smith’s Used Cars. They spent every hour together working until they retired in 2005. They enjoyed their winters in Florida where they sang old country gospel at the church. Debbie loved playing BINGO, family get togethers, cooking and being a jokester.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Randall Smith; children, Randy (Penny) Smith and Cindy (Rick Jackson) Bowen; grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Cody (Amanda) Smith, Emma Bowen, Evan Bowen and Aiden Jackson; great grandchildren, Flynn Smith and Timmy Smith; sister, Virginia Rising, sister-in-law, Sue Yates; brother-in-law, Kerry Smith; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Debbie is preceded in death by her brothers, Donnie Goble, Joe Goble and Steve Goble; in-laws, Knox and Bonnie L. Smith.

Services will be on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Summit Cemetery.
