Dee Anne Shafer

Dee Anne Shafer, 66, of Spiceland, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on October 16, 1959, in New Castle, a daughter to the late Wilmer Dean and Peggy Anne (King) Shafer.

Dee Anne attended Tri High School and was a member of the Class of 1977. She was a cosmetologist in Texas for over 25 years. She enjoyed camping and boating. After moving back to Spiceland to live with her sister, Karla, she enjoyed cooking and baking and looked forward to spending the winters in Texas with her children.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children, Summer Lee Branham (Herbie Messam) of Seabrook, TX, and Jacob Branham (Valeria Perez) of Seabrook, TX; three grandchildren, Henry Branham, Addison Branham, and Kynleigh Martin; a sister, Karla Shafer Hunt of Spiceland; two nephews, Zachary (Morgan) Clements of Spiceland, and Joshua Clements of Spiceland; a great nephew, Baylor Clements and a great niece, Lexi Clements; several cousins and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Morgan.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Hoover Hall in Spiceland. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences and memories of Dee Anne may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
