Delores K. Guffey

Delores K. Guffey, 92, of Cambridge City passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. She was born December 19, 1932 in New Castle to the late William Horace and Zola K. (Werking) Shipley.

Delores was employed at Richmond Casting for 12 years. She then went on to work for Ambassador Nursing Home in Centerville where she later retired in 2008. Delores enjoyed riding horses, gardening, cooking and coloring. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was especially fond of her Maltese dog, Tippy.

Delores is survived by her children: Robert Gene Roach (Mary Brown-Roach) of Indianapolis and Melinda Jeffers of Cambridge City; several grandchildren including Travis Roach, Kimmy Roach, and Michael Keller; and a close friend, Teresa Allen.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Marshall Shipley; four great grandchildren: Peyton, Brooklyn, Hunter, and infant boy.

Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jason Tabor officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Hillsboro Cemetery at a later date.
