Diane L. Foster

Diane L. Foster, 78, a resident of New Castle passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at IU Health-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born November 13, 1947 in New Castle.

Diane attended Lewisville schools and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1966. She worked at Dana Corp, both in Hagerstown and New Castle for 23 years. She was a lung transplant survivor of 21 years and 5 months.

Diane enjoyed traveling and loved watching Indy Car races. She was a “band mom” for the New Castle Trojan Marching band for several years. Above all, Diane loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Randall “Randy” Foster, whom she married November 8, 1968; two sons: Brian Kent Foster (Jackie) of New Castle and Greg Allen Foster (Suzie) of Avon; five grandchildren: Samantha Foster-Coffin (Michael), Colleen Foster (Will), Kyle Foster, Ainsley Crowe (Ethan) and Georgia Foster; two great-grandchildren: Iris and Atlas Coffin; two nieces: Jeanna Elza and Janet Cain; special family members: Debbie Perry and Julia Perry and several cousins.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother: Emma (Myers) Perry and a brother: Steve Perry.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the transplant unit on the 7th floor of Methodist Hospital for the wonderful care given to Diane over the years.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Brian Neal officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of the service on Wednesday.
