Dixie Sue (Moses) Daffron, 93, of Tipton passed away on Sunday May 25, 2025, at the Waters of Tipton. Born on February 25,1932, in Etowah, TN to the late James Luther and Elizabeth (Hudson) Moses.
Dixie worked at New Castle State Hospital and was a homemaker. She attended church in Kirksville, MO where she lived for 30 years. She was a volunteer with OATS of Northeast Missouri, local transportation for 25 years. Her hobbies included reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Guffey of Kokomo, Belinda (James) Guffey of Albany, KY, and Sue Ellen (Bill) O’Dear of New Castle; brother, Charles (Sheila) Moses of New Castle; six grandchildren, Doug and Daniel Guffey, Lauren Hennemann, Hillary Hoffman, Chelsea O’Dear, Bill “Ty” O’Dear; 13 great grandchildren: Sam, Isaac, Titus, Maloy, Maddox, Miles, Briana, Zoey, Moriah, Gavin, Kynsli, Grace, and Lily; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Crowhorn; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Dixie is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jay Daffron; her son, Dennis Best; three brothers, Bill Moses, Walter Moses, and Curtis Thompson; sister, Shirley Wallace; son-in-law Don Guffey; and grandson Michael Guffey.

Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday May 29, 2025, at Hinsey-brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service.
