Donald M. Brown

Donald M. Brown, 87, of New Castle passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 30, 2026. He was born August 4, 1938 in London, England to the late Charles C. and Mary (McNeale) Brown.

Don proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963. Following his military service, he owned and operated D.M.B. Concrete Construction for over 30 years before retiring. Never one to slow down, Don also owned and operated a shrimp farm near Summit Lake and took his food truck to fairs and festivals across Indiana and the Midwest.

A hardworking man with an appreciation for the outdoors, Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising cattle. In addition to his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed playing basketball, tennis and ping pong and attending his sons’ sporting events. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in New Castle during his sons’ teenage years, and again when he moved back to Indiana in 2008.

Don is survived by his sons, Daniel M. (Rita) Brown of Marshall, WI and Charles C. II (Simone) Brown of Wisconsin Dells, WI; grandchildren, Daniel, Savannah, Adam, Langston, Siena, and Taya; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 15, 2026 at St. James Episcopal Church in New Castle with Father Jeff Bessler officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Muncie Missions Ministries, 1725 S.
