Dorothy Alline Dunn

Dorothy Alline Dunn, 95, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Glen Oaks Health Campus following a brief illness. She was born September 25, 1925 in Monticello, KY, a daughter of the late Estel and Rachel (Purdue) Neal.

She lived and worked in New Castle as a young adult, and moved to Jefferson Township in the early 1950’s where she resided the rest of her life. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and raising her four children.

She is survived by her son, David J. Dunn of Muncie and a daughter, Hazel Dunn Lewis of West Lafayette; four grandchildren; sisters, Esther Taylor, Jane Hudson, Sonja Wilkinson, and a brother, Rillie Neal, all of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd K. Dunn Sr. in 2002; two sons, Estel W. Dunn in 1990, and Floyd K. Dunn II in 2017; sisters, Ina Hall, Belva Brummett, Dixie Spurlock; brothers, Ray and Oliver Neal.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Mt. Summit Cemetery with Rev. Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
