Duane Alan Billingsley, 80, of Sulphur Springs passed away unexpectedly March 1, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson.
Duane was born in Tipton and grew up on a farm outside of Sheridan. He was active in FFA showing beef cattle and crop judging. He enjoyed the rural setting in later life, watching the crops grow and the calves mature. His hobbies included gardening, bird watching, wood working, card games and spending time with family and friends.
Duane was an avid Purdue fan and was always tuned in when the Boilers played football and basketball. He was a member of the Purdue football team in the early 1960’s.
Duane is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Scott Billingsley of Carmel, Robert (Kate) Clipp of Indianapolis; daughter, Shannon (Yale) Kincaid of Battle Creek, MI; grandchildren, Shelby Billingsley of Henderson, Nevada and Joshua, Noah and Bailey Kinkaid of Battle Creek along with several nieces and a nephew.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bruce and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Duane attended Mooreland Friends Church, 101 N Jefferson St. and enjoyed helping at their food pantry. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Mooreland Friends Church on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Brenda Earley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mooreland Friends Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service.
