Earnest Eugene Davis

Earnest Eugene Davis, 79, of New Castle passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born June 20, 1943 in Albany, KY the son of Lige and Naomi (Guffey) Davis.
Ernie was a 1962 graduate of Chrysler High School. He served in the Navy with Subron 12 U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Key West, FL. He attained the rank of QM3SS on the U.S.S. Sea Poacher SS406. He was in the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis and served during Vietnam. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1967.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Denise (Smith) Davis; two sons, Michael and Aaron (Johnna); three grandsons, Matthew, Nicolas and Xander; two granddaughters, Katelynne and Mady; and one great grandson, Jackson; and one great granddaughter, Freya; four sisters and one brother.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Stacey; four brothers and two sisters.
