Eileen H. (Kemerly) Hancock, 94, formerly of Wilkinson, passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at Brickyard Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born January 14, 1931 in Indianapolis the daughter of Harry and Hilda Drinkut.
Eileen had been employed at Blocks Department Store and Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Indianapolis. She was a member of Gideons International Auxiliary for many years. A member of the Wesleyan Church, Eileen had attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan, Grant City Wesleyan and Knightstown Wesleyan Churches along with Shirley Church of the Nazarene. In her younger years, she showed sheep in 4-H. Eileen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. She also loved raising chickens, working on the farm and her dogs. Eileen enjoyed cooking, especially banana cream pies on holidays with her grandchildren. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and violin.
She is survived by her children; Larry (Shellie) Kemerly of Brownsburg; Donna (James) Driesbach of Greenfield, Joyce (Ron) Hearl of Cape Coral, FL and Gail (Jay) Riggs of Knightstown; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Kemerly; second husband, James “Jay” Hancock; great granddaughter, Faith Kemerly; siblings, Marion Drinkut, Mildred Milner and Carl Drinkut.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Darrell Bertram officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, Hancock County Camp, P O Box 11, Maxwell, IN 46154.
