Mr. Forrest Owens, 96, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his residence. He was born April 26, 1925, in Lewis County, Kentucky a son of the late Vess and Myrtle Riley Owens.
Forrest proudly served his country as a Marine in WWII where he received many honors. He was a Christian and enjoyed reading his Bible, was retired from Chrysler Corporation where he worked for over 30 years as a electrician. He was a 32nd degree Mason Scottish Rite, a member of VFW Post 1282 of New Castle, Indiana and The American Legion Post 342 of Willard, Kentucky. He enjoyed making knives, guns, bee keeping, woodworking, gardening, telling stories and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Gulley Owens, two sons, Darryel Owens and Rickie Owens, one grandson, Ben Owens, four brothers, Lloyd Owens, Danny Owens, Darryel Owens and Charles Owens and two sisters, Ramona Owens and Yvonne Thomas.
Forrest is survived by two sons, Forrest Allen Owens of New Castle, IN and Terry (Beverly) Owens of Noblesville, IN; one daughter, Beverly Sue Owens of Grayson, KY; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, three brothers, Donald Jewett Owens, of Emerson, KY, Robert Owens of Laurel, KY, and Jimmie Owens of Emerson, KY; two sisters, Thelma Jean Back of Globe, Kentucky and Mary Joyce Owens of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Private graveside services will be held at Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Thursday. Condolences and memories for Forrest may be shared at
