Frederick Hunt

Frederick E. Hunt, age 61, of Spiceland, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born September 15, 1947 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Stewart and Edna (Sorrell) Hunt.

A 1965 graduate of Spiceland High School, he served in the National Guard or six years. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum in 2000 after 28 years of service. He was a member of New Castle Masonic Lodge #91and New Castle Order of Eastern Star #116. He was a member of the Spiceland Friends Meeting. An avid woodworker, he also built kit cars and loved Hot Rods.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years: Tommie Hunt of Spiceland; two daughters: Rachel (husband: Eric) Smith of New Castle and Wendy (husband: Scott) Miers of Greenfield; four grandchildren: Jillian Miers and Chloe Miers, both of Greenfield, Andrew Pheffer and Riley Smith, both of New Castle; a sister: Sharon Jones of Muncie.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Stewart and Edna Hunt.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Spiceland Friends Meeting with David Brock officiating. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Spiceland Friends Meeting Building Fund with envelopes available at the church.
