Georgie Baker

Georgie Lee Baker, 78, of New Castle went to Heaven on Sunday, September 20, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 17, 1947, in Monticello, Ky to the late Fred Wallace and Bonnie Jean (Lester) Kelsay.

She was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother and nanny. Georgie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Known for her quick wit and her great sense of humor. She loved to travel with her husband Lee and take girls trips with her sister and daughters. Georgie enjoyed shopping, cooking for others, writing poetry and going to the river boat to gamble. An avid reader that loved taking her grandchildren with her to the library to pick out a new book.

Georgie retired from New Castle School System where she worked as a custodian, she also worked at the bowling alley for many years as a cook. Georgie was a dedicated member of Abundant Life Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lee Baker; children, Traci Baker and Troy Baker; grandchildren, Matthew, William, Heather, TJ and Autumn; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brothers, Jackie Kelsay and Rick Kelsay; sister, Billie Guffey.

In addition to her parents Georgie is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Baker and great granddaughter, Kelly Ann.

Services will be on Saturday September 26, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Mike Winner officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service. You may share a memory or express a condolence of Georgie at www.hinsey-brown.com.
