Geraldean “Jerri” Rucker, 81, of Arlington, IN, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and those who loved her. She was born May 10, 1944 in New Castle, IN, to the late Glen David and Eldred Florence (Hamilton) McIntosh.

Jerri graduated from Mays High School in 1962 and began her early career as a beautician, a profession that allowed her to touch the lives of many throughout her community. In her later years, she dedicated herself to General Motors, where she worked diligently until her retirement on July 1, 2003. Her work ethic was a testament to her unstoppable and determined spirit, which resonated deeply with all who knew her.

Jerri's home was a sanctuary for those in need; she opened her doors to nearly 100 different individuals, extending a helping hand during their most challenging times. Jerri attended Dunreith Christian Church and as a good Christian woman, her faith guided her actions, and her generosity left a mark on the lives of those she welcomed into her home.

She enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a passion for gardening and canning, a delightful talent for making hard rock candy, and a creative flair that involved crafting, including painting rocks and making Christmas planks. Her sewing skills were notable; for a number of years she made uniforms for the Kopper Kettle restaurant in Morristown, showcasing her dedication to her craft and local businesses.

In her leisure time, Jerri took pleasure in camping and she loved fishing. She was known to enjoy roller skating, dancing, and karaoke at “The Barn”, where her vibrant personality and zest for life could be seen and felt by all.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Anthony Ray of Arlington, Darla (Ray) and Jeff VanDuyn of Morristown, and Danyelle (Rucker) and Jimmy Moore of Morristown; grandchildren, Heather Munger of Rushville, Michael and Jamie Ray of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerrica and Rick Deiwert of Columbus, Alicia Stafford of North Vernon, Jeffrey and Lizzie VanDuyn of Cocolalla, ID, Cheyenne and Keigan Freese of Orange, Dusty Rucker of Shelbyville and companion Promise, Kyle Moore of Morristown and companion Whitney, and Brittany and Nate Myers of New Castle; great grandchildren, Lixandra Ray, Miguel Ray, Aria Ray, Milli Ray, KayLynn Ray, Mica Munger, Delan Love, Oakley Love, Treyton Deiwert, Tyler Deiwert, Riley Deiwert, Serenity Clemens, Forrest VanDuyn, Carson Freese, Brynleigh Freese, Jayden Rucker, Khloe Moore, Ashton Rucker, Ayvion Myers, Elias Myers, Nevaeh Neice, and Heaven Neice; great great grandchild Kalani Ray; sisters, Judy Rucker and Sylvia Hatfield; beloved daughter dog, Carmi; many nieces and nephews; and all those whom she has collected over the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers David McIntosh and Jack McIntosh; and her son, Jimmy Rucker.
