Howard Richard Thorman

September 3, 1982 — February 11, 2026

Lewisville

Howard Richard Thorman, 43, of Lewisville, passed away surrounded by his family on February 11, 2026. He was born in Indianapolis on September 3, 1982, to Richard Thorman and the late Patricia (Griffin) Reams.

Education took Howard from the lively streets of Indianapolis, where he fondly recounted “growing up in the hood,” to the halls of Emmerich Manual High School. It was here where the foundation of his charismatic personality was laid. Affectionately known by the nickname "Mute," he was a larger-than-life figure whose laughter echoed through the hearts of everyone who knew him. Howard was known for his humor; a natural jokester, and he filled the lives of his children with laughter.

A man of many talents, Howard navigated various careers throughout his life and even stepped into the world of entrepreneurship, establishing his own roofing business. His dedication to hard work was matched only by his desire to lend a helping hand as a volunteer firefighter, always ready to serve his community.

Family was the center of Howard’s universe; he thrived in the company of his beloved grandchildren, loving them with a boundless enthusiasm. He lived life passionately, an adrenaline junky at heart, forever in pursuit of the next thrill—whether it was hunting, fishing, skydiving, or riding roller coasters. He possessed an undeniable love for motorcycles, particularly his beloved Harley Davidson, which he named "Majestic." Riding with the wind in his hair, he embodied freedom and joy, cementing lasting bonds with his Warthog brothers—a brotherhood built on shared passions and camaraderie.

Howard will be greatly missed but never forgotten. May his adventurous spirit soar into the boundless skies. “Ride, ride, ride.”

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Richard Kenneth Thorman; his loving wife, Lashell Thorman; children, Debbie Hernandez, Brittany Nash, James (Adelina) Nash, and Alfonso Hernandez; grandchildren, “King” AJ Hernandez, “Baby Girl” Ava Balser, “Sissy Bug” Jozlynn Hernandez, “Mouse” Brentson Duke, and “Princess Tornado” Journey Nash; siblings, Holli Young, Tracy Reams Jr., and Nae (Buck) Stinson; cousin Joe Kinney; several other extended family members; and his Warthog family.

Howard was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Reams; brother, Kevin Thorman; cousin, Sean Chapman; stepfather, Tracy Reams; uncle, Danny Reams; and grandparents, Edward and Agnes Griffin.
