Irene L. Qualls, 91, of New Castle passed away, Monday, February 4, 2019 at IU Health Ball Hospital. She was born February 4, 1928 in Livingston, TN to the late Emit and Margaret (Ledford) Sells.
Irene married Gentry Qualls on June 10, 1950 in Algood, TN. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and boating. Irene was a member of the Church of Christ for 68 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher for several years. She owned and operated Qualls Mobile Home Park for 15 years. Irene enjoyed traveling, sewing and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Gentry Qualls; children, Terry Burgess of New Castle and Kevin Qualls of Muncie; grandchildren, Jennifer Burgess (Josh Fowler), Travis Burgess both of New Castle, Brandon Qualls of Muncie, Kara Qualls (Eric Young) of Greenfield, Kory Qualls of Greensburg, Kaylea Qualls (Dustin Young) of Springport and Kelsey Qualls of New Castle; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 5 brothers, 4 sisters and a daughter-in-law, Lorie Qualls.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phil Morgan officiating.
