James P. Meyerholtz

James “Jim” P. Meyerholtz, 71, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Henry Community Health following several years of failing health. He was born May 22, 1955 in New Castle to the late Kenneth James and Dorothy Lilian (Palin) Meyerholtz.

Jim, a proud 1973 graduate of Tri High School, spent his career working at Lowe’s in Muncie before eventually retiring. A fun-loving man with a passion for computers, that could often be found navigating the digital world or diving deep into family history alongside his beloved wife, Ruth Ann, as they worked together on genealogy. Outside of his projects, Jim enjoyed fishing and shared a deeply devoted bond with his cherished dog, Bently.

Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Ruth Ann (Stockinger) Meyerholtz; siblings, Donna Ellis and Steve (Rhea) Meyerholtz; a niece, Angela (Mark) Seitz; a nephew, Shawn Ellis and a brother-in-law, Fred (Cathy) Stockinger.

Services will be private and burial will be at Lewisville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362.
