Jason Chesher

July 28, 1982 — October 17, 2008

Jason Wayne “Jake” Chesher, age 26, of New Castle, died unexpectedly Friday in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on July 28, 1982, a son of Jeffrey L. and Karen L. (Spradlin) Chesher.

A 2001 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, he was in the vocational program there, majoring in electronics. He attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis, where he majored in Computer Programming, and while a student there, carried a 4.0 grade point average. He was presently employed by Direct TV as a customer service representative. An avid NASCAR, Colts and Pacers fan, he also enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing with his nieces and spending time with family.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Chesher-Johnson (husband, Bo) of Largo, FL; his father, Jeff (wife, Diana) Chesher of New Castle; a brother, Jeremy (wife, Lora) Chesher of New Castle; two nieces, Elisabeth and Annalyn Chesher, both of New Castle; two step-sisters, Kaleigh and Katie Lowery, both of New Castle; his fiance, Tara Jones of Indianapolis; his maternal grandfather, Ray Conatser of New Castle; paternal grandparents, Bob and Thelma Chesher of New Castle; maternal great-grandmother, Ora Spradlin of Pine Knot, KY; paternal great grandparents, Loren and Marie Simpson of New Castle; step grandparents, Royce and Elaine Mathews of New Castle and Arthur Jr. “Bongo” and Ruth Ann Johnson of Largo, FL; three aunts, Lisa (husband, Donnie) Flowers, Rhonda Spradlin, and Brenda (husband, Doug) Boyd, all of New Castle; two uncles, Randy (fiance, Leann) Chesher of Middletown and Danny (wife, Traci) Chesher of Albany; several cousins and his dog, Boo Bear.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Faye Conatser, and a special uncle, Rick Spradlin.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Brother Frank Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Jason W. Chesher Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
