Jessika N. Feltz

Artist. Advocate. Dreamer. Light.

Some people move quietly through the world. Jessika Nikole Feltz didn’t just move — she designed a life full of color, texture, and music, crafting every moment as if it were a masterpiece.

Jessika, age 43, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, after a courageous one-year battle with appendix cancer. Even in her hardest days, she lived the same way she always had — creatively, passionately, and with deep love for the people around her.

She is survived by her husband and greatest teammate of 20 years, Jim Feltz, and their son, Tucker, who was her proudest masterpiece. She also leaves behind her parents, Don and Sherry Denney; her father-in-law, Phil Feltz; brother-in-law Bill Feltz (Misty); and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were lucky enough to be part of her colorful world.

Born March 30, 1982, in New Castle, Indiana, Jessika was a creator from the very beginning. Where others saw blank space, she saw possibility. Where others saw ordinary, she imagined extraordinary. She could build something gorgeous out of nothing — and she shared it freely with the world.

A proud graduate of New Castle High School (Class of 2000), she followed both her analytical mind and artistic heart — earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University in 2004, then later an Associate of Science degree in Digital Photography from the Art Institute of Indianapolis. She loved proving that creativity and precision could live side by side BEAUTIFULLY.

Jessika didn’t just make art — she built a life around it.

With Jim, she launched and ran multiple creative businesses, including Jessika Feltz Creative, Triple J Wedding Professionals, Jupiter and Juno letterpress, and Jessika Feltz Photography. Together, they captured weddings, milestones, and everyday magic for countless families across Indiana. If you ever received one of her prints or stood in front of her lens, you didn’t just get a product — you got a piece of her heart.

But her true masterpiece was teaching and advocating.

As the Graphic Design Instructor at the New Castle Career Center, Jessika found her calling. Her classroom was more than a room with computers — it was a studio, a safe space, a launchpad. She met students exactly where they were and helped them see what they could become. She was accepting and a steadfast advocate for those who could not advocate for themselves. She taught design skills, certifications, and college credits — but more importantly, she taught confidence, authenticity, and courage.

She told her students they belonged in the art world. Then she showed them how to get there.

Jessika lived loudly in the best ways — through music playing in the background, finished projects on every table, spontaneous ideas, deep conversations, and laughter that filled the room. She noticed beauty that others missed. She made ordinary days feel special. She loved fiercely.

Her life was a collage of family dinners, late-night creativity, camera straps over her shoulder, ink-stained hands, music turned up, and a heart wide open.

Though her time here feels far too short, the mark she leaves is permanent — in every student she inspired, every photograph she captured, every piece of art she created, and every person who loved her.

Jessika didn’t just live life. She designed it, and she defended it for those who could not.
