Joan Sexton

Joan Sexton, 77, of New Castle, passed away at her home on June 12, 2026. She was born in Oneida, TN on September 5, 1948, to the late Richard and Alma (Hill) Burke.

Joan attended Blue River High School and lived most of her life in Henry County where she worked as a hairdresser. She was married to Dan Sexton for 61 years until his passing in January.

Joan is survived by her daughter Dana Spradlin (companion Tony Wray); grandchildren, Shawn (Stephanie) Singer, Acacia Singer, and Elijah (Caitlyn) Spradlin; great grandchildren, Tucker Martin, Scarlett Singer, Chandler Singer, Shiloh Singer, Weston Spradlin, and Colton Spradlin; and her sister, Karen (Carlos) Waters.

In addition to her parents, Joan was proceeded in death by her husband, Don Sexton; and her siblings, Richard Burke Jr. and Pamela Carroll.
