John Allan Loveday, 64, a resident of New Castle went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, June 18, 2026 at the Willows of New Castle. He was born May 28, 1962 in New Castle to the late Amos John and Nora Ann (Snedigar) Loveday.
John was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and Tri-State (Triune) University in Angola where he earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing. He was featured in the “Who’s Who Among American High School Students”. John was a veteran of the US Army where he proudly served his country. He retired from Sweetwater Sound Corp. in Ft. Wayne and had previously worked at Advanced Assembly, a division of Lear Corp. in Columbia City.
A member of Bible Baptist Church of Prairie Creek in Selma, IN, John once went on a mission trip to Turkey. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and UAW #3055 in Columbia City. His hobbies include playing golf, bowling and playing cards and BINGO. An excellent cook, he enjoyed preparing meals, especially for his family and friends.
Survivors include a sister: Rita (David) Alexander of New Castle; nieces and nephews: Brent Alexander and Christina (Timothy) Corbin; two aunts: Susie Alcorn and Hazel Coates along with several cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two cousins: Jimmy Loveall and Patricia Bowen and an aunt: Mary Jane Loveall.
Services will be held at1:00pm Monday, June 29, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor John Booth officiating. Military rites will be conducted by contingents of the US Army, American Legion and the VFW. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Research or Parkinson’s Foundation. You may express condolences or share a memory of John at www.hinsey-brown.com.
