John A. Hawkins

John A. Hawkins, 62, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born June 13, 1959 in Henry County the son of Elmer and Anna Belle (Choate) Hawkins, Jr.

John had worked at Modernfold Corporation in New Castle for over 20 years and previously at Tractor Cab Corporation in Arlington, IN for 2 years. He enjoyed camping, traveling, horseback riding, attending concerts and working on the computer.

He is survived by his companion and best friend, David McClure of Greenfield; brothers, Robert (Betty) Darling of New Castle and Greg Hawkins (companion, Minnie Garcia) of New Castle; niece, Angie Hawkins Hall; nephews, Adam Hawkins Butler, Andy Hawkins, Joey Darling and Stephen Darling and long time best friend, Melissa Bowman of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Hawkins; a sister, Diana Sue Ackers; and nephew, Jamie Hawkins.

Services will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Tony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
