John William Willis

John William Willis, 93, of Knightstown passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born October 4, 1932 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Steve and Pearl (Denney) Willis.

John married the love of his life, Nola Loujean Wilson on April 4, 1954. In his younger years, he enjoyed going hunting, camping, bowling, traveling with his wife and playing softball. In more recent years, he was still active and enjoyed going to eat with friends and attending church at Raysville Community Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he was always a hard worker and could be found cutting timber at the sawmill he owned and operated. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He loved decorating his home and property for all to come and see which brought him great joy. He even won Grand Champion of Henry County for his hard work on his lights.

He is survived by his children: Johnny Willis of Sunman, Frank Willis of New Castle, Melinda (Kenny) Dishman of Knightstown and Jeff (Lori) Willis of Knightstown; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nola Loujean Willis; four sisters and a brother.
