Jonnie Louis Dills

Jonnie Louis Dills, 83, of Knightstown passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 at Brickyard Health Care in Indianapolis. He was born October 13, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Elbert H. and Ethel (Stanley) Dills.

Jonnie was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and the U.S. Army for 14 years. He was awarded the Bronze Star in 1972. He then was an over the road truck driver for 45 years. Jonnie was a lifetime member of the Knightstown American Legion and the VFW. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed yard work.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 36 years, Beverly A. (White) Sloneker-Dills; three sons, Mark (Valerie) Sloneker of Noblesville, John (Cheryl) Sloneker of Bloomington, IL and James Comer of New Mexico; grandchildren, Avery and Dylan Sloneker, Bri (Danny) Coleman; great granddaughter, Maezie Coleman; twin sister, Bonnie Wolfe of Chillicothe, OH; sister-in-law, Darlene Decker of Vincennes; brother-in-law, Larry (Janet) White of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara Dills, Ray Dills, Russell Dills, George Dills, Velma Jean, and Marlene Dills; sister-in-law, Karilyn White.

Services will be 12:00 PM Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor David Oaks officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
