Joyce Ann Myers

Joyce Ann Myers, 89, a resident of Spiceland passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 18, 1937 in New Castle to the late Robert and Oma (Phipps) Garner.

A 1955 graduate of Spiceland High School, Joyce was employed at Citizens State Bank for eight years. She also served as secretary at Spiceland Friends Church and retired from Draper, Inc. in June, 2002 after over 25 years of service. Joyce attended First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle and had served on the Spiceland Town Board for eight years. She also served on the boards of Hoover Hall and SPATS. Joyce was a member of the Lewisville Order of the Eastern Star and was Past Matron of the Spiceland Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son: Rick (Lesa) Barlow of Spiceland; a daughter: Cindy Cox of Spiceland; grandchildren: Nyree (Craig) Sullivan, R.J. Barlow, Katie (Daniel) Kinnaird and Drew Cox; great-grandchildren: Colbe Sullivan, Gia and London Barlow; Jonah, Caleb and Lucy Kinnaird; step-grandson: Scott (Angie) Shook; sister: Jan Estelle of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her first husband: Lynn Barlow; second husband: Charlie Myers; a grandson: Rick Lynn Barlow, Jr; two brothers: Troy E. Garner and Max Garner.

Services will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with her granddaughter, Katie Kinnaird and Pastor Jimmy Southerland officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00pm Tuesday, prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
