Karen D’Anna Hamilton-Sweeney, 43, of Mooreland passed away Sunday, November 8, 2026 following injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was born on May 7, 1983 in Muncie to Randall C. Hamilton and Teresa J. (Smith) Wallen.
A proud native of Sulphur Springs, Indiana and a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Karen was a wonderfully sweet and caring person who would gladly give someone in need the shirt off her back. Known for her generous spirit, she spent much of her free time doing what she loved best—cooking and baking, at which she was remarkably talented—and sharing a deep, affectionate love for dogs. Yet, above all her hobbies and kindness, Karen's true pride and joy was her son, Eli, who remained the absolute light of her life.
Karen is survived by her son, Elijah “Eli” Dixon; mother, Teresa (Keith) Wallen; siblings, Justin (Heather) Hamilton and Devon Parmley; grandmother, Wanda Wooldridge; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Randy C. Hamilton and wife, Melissa Sweeney.
A celebration of life will be announced soon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, 11 Midway Dr. New Castle, IN 47362. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Karen at www.hinsey-brown.com.
