Kathleen Mae Kramer, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at The Willows of New Castle. She was born on January 27, 1941, in Allegan, Michigan, the daughter of the late Alvin George and Lucy (McBride) Kramer.
Kathleen’s life was marked by a deep love of music, education, and family. A gifted pianist, she found great joy in playing classical music throughout her life. She shared her talent generously, often playing for her church and residents at the assisted living facility, where her music brought comfort and peace to many.
Kathleen was a graduate of Pella Christian School in Pella, Iowa, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in teaching from Dordt University, also in Iowa. Her passion for education and faith was reflected in her love of singing in the church choir and in her joyful spirit.
She was also known for her unique love of giraffes, collecting them throughout her life as cherished keepsakes.
Above all, Kathleen loved her family deeply. She was especially proud of her two grandchildren, Isaac and Lucy.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Laurel (Ryan) Stewart of Greenfield; grandchildren, Isaac and Lucy Stewart; brother, Richard Kramer of Hotchkiss, CO; sister, Mary Baker of Miami, AZ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Kramer.
At Kathleen’s request, there will be a simple cremation with no public service.
