Kathy Diane (Edwards) Dalrymple, age 70, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026. Born on April 30, 1956, in New Castle, Kathy lived a life full of love, laughter, adventure, and compassion for others.
Kathy was reunited in heaven with her beloved youngest son, Kelly Pierce, her sister Cheryl Lowery, her brother Jimmy Edwards, and her parents, Jim and Charlene Edwards.
She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply, including her sons Bryan Edwards and Joshua Pierce (Sally Pierce). She is also survived by her sisters Lola Alley, Barbara (JR) Lewis, and Mert Edwards; her brother Mark (Tina) Edwards; her brother-in-law Raymond Lowery; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished with her whole heart.
Kathy spent many years traveling with Poor Jack Amusements and truly loved seeing the world. She often said the best thing a person could do for themselves was to travel and gain perspective on life. While she loved her adventures, nothing meant more to her than her family. She would proudly say that the best part of having children was getting grandchildren, though raising her three boys remained the greatest joy and accomplishment of her life.
She also had a deep love for music, especially classic rock. Whether it was Tom Petty, The Beatles, the Eagles, or countless other favorites, music was always playing somewhere around Kathy. It brought her joy, comfort, and many memories throughout her life.
Known for her spunky spirit and kind heart, Kathy was always willing to help anyone in need. She dedicated many years serving in the clothing room at the Christian Love Center, where her compassion touched countless lives. She also found peace and happiness in nature and especially loved mushroom hunting every spring, a tradition she treasured for many years.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Waters of New Castle for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Kathy during her time there.
Kathy will be remembered for her strength, her adventurous soul, her sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave to those around her. She leaves behind memories that will forever be carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
There will be no public services at this time. Cremation will take place at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Christian Love Help Center, 418 S. 18th Street, New Castle, Indiana 47362.
