Kenneth Eugene Miller, 77, of Cumberland, formally of Knightstown and Dunkirk, IN, gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was a graduate from Dunkirk High School class of 1963. Immediately after high school with two of his classmates and friends, Gary Baker and David Hamilton, he joined the United States Army. Shortly after the Army he attended and graduated from Indiana University.
Kenny was employed at Peerless Pump as an assistant purchasing manager before retirement. In 2001 Kenny had a heart transplant. After his heart transplant he spoke to students at universities about being an organ donor as part of the Organ Donor Procurement. He was an avid euchre player, loved to travel, play golf, ride bikes, and enjoyed his family and friends. He also adored all animals and especially loved his fur babies, Micky and Jake. Kenny was a kind and loving person to all. At his 50th class reunion he reunited with classmate Sharon Eltzroth and they were married on December 27, 2014 and just celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sharon Eltzroth-Miller of Cumberland; his step-daughter, Shari Willman-Smith (Erik Smith) of Indianapolis; step-son Anthony Willman of Florida; granddaughters, Lauren (Danny), MacKenzie (Austin) and Karlee; and great grandchildren, Aubrie and Noah.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents of Dunkirk, IN his father, Elsay Miller and his beautiful mother Mary Magdalene (Clouse) Miller; brother, Jim Miller of Ridgeville, IN; and his first wife, Sharon (Susie) Denice Purtee.
Services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
