Kya June Spears took her final rest in the arms of her loving parents, Stephen Spears and Presley Rees on February 22nd, 2022 at Riley Children’s Hospital. Kya’s presence, laughter, smile and light will be missed more than her parents have the words to describe.
Kya arrived on June 16th, 2021, a blessing placed softly into the arms of her parents. Though Kya was with her family for only a brief moment, that’s all the time she needed to change the lives of those she touched forever.
Our family is forever changed and forever grateful to have spent this brief, but incredibly meaningful, time with Kya. She is survived by her loving family, parents, Stephen Spears and Presley Rees; grandparents, David (Stephanie) Rees, Dawn Rees, Rachel Brake; aunts and uncles, Jazzie Spears, Toria Clemmons, Sabrina Coy, Casey Coy, Tabetha Perry, and Bridgette Perry
Services will be held privately at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with burial to follow at South Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the funeral home to help defray funeral service expenses, Kya June Spears Memorial Fund, c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 South Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362, CDG Care or Riley Children’s Foundation, which were instrumental in helping our family through this difficult time.
