Larry David Bever

Larry David Bever, 77, of Spiceland passed away Monday, September 28, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 19, 1949 in New Castle, the son of Harry and Mildred (Meyer) Bever.

Larry was a 1968 graduate of Spiceland High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, including a period of service in Vietnam, where he helped build roads and drill wells. Larry was a farmer for more than 60 years and also worked for 20 years at Jefferson Smurfit Stone, formerly known as the Carthage Paper Mill. He was a member of the Knightstown American Legion and the Moose Lodge of New Castle. Larry enjoyed the simple things of life and spending time doing the things he loved. His hobbies included farming, watching westerns, NASCAR and the Indiana Fever, as well as fox and coon hunting. In his younger years, he also enjoyed drag racing.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Debbie Bever of Spiceland; sister, Nina Wolfe of Charlottesville; daughter, Dawneil Hall of Indianapolis; sons, Jason (Tammy) Bever and Chad (Mindy) Bever of Knightstown; grandchildren, Kyle (Aly) Bever, Jacob (Abby) Walker, Avery Bever, Kendall Bever and Kennedy Hall; great grandchildren, Hadley and Kane Bever; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Muncy.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Anthony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery with military honors conducted by contingents from the U.S. Army and Knightstown American Legion. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 5th at the funeral home.
