Larry E. Sloan, 80, of Anderson, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 17, 2026, at his home. He was born August 27, 1945, in Albany, KY, the son of the late Kay and Ida Billie (Stailey) Sloan.
A 1963 graduate of Clinton County High School, Larry retired from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, where he was in management. Larry lived life to the fullest! He loved music, collecting guitars, and had one of the nicest recording studios one could imagine. Christmas was his favorite time of the year.
He loved nice things, especially nice cars! He was an avid IU and Colts fan and enjoyed playing golf. His family was special to him, each and every one of them.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Vicki Sloan of Anderson, three children, Tammy (Luke) Goodpaster of Muncie, Jody (Charlotte) Sloan of Noblesville, and David Sloan of Louisville, KY; seven grandchildren, Chris Sloan of Muncie, Ciara Farmer of Muncie, Jacob Goodpaster of Muncie, Amanda Sloan of Knightstown, Clinton Sloan of Greenfield, Jessica Butler of Pendleton, and Michael Johnson of Muncie; six great grandchildren, Jayleigh, Ashlynne, Jayden, Riylinn, Jared, and Darren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Sloan in 2020.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society at American Cancer Society. Condolences and memories of Larry may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
