Larry Delaine Mitchell

Larry Delaine “Little Larry” Mitchell, age 24, of New Castle, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2007. He was born April 9, 1982 in New Castle, a son of Larry Cole Mitchell and Janet Sue Vaughn.

A person who loved helping people, he was always willing to put others and their needs first, before his own. He was employed by Lee’s Tractor Service as a professional tree trimmer. He enjoyed working on vehicles, and was good with construction. He loved being the center of attention and was known to be happy all of the time. He played football and wrestling for New Castle.

He is survived by his mother; Janet Mitchell of Medina, Ohio; his father: Larry (wife: Leslie) Mitchell of New Castle; a brother: Jamin (wife: Jessica) Vaughn of New Castle; two step-brothers: Jacob and Clinton Brown, both of New Castle; four nephews: Xavier, Marcus, Coltin, and Lucas Vaughn, all of New Castle; maternal grandparents: J.T. and Juanita Vaughn of Muncie; paternal grandmother: Marjorie Barnett of New Castle; an aunt: Lois Cook of New Castle; a cousin: Melissa (husband: Jim) Jeffries of New Castle; a second cousin: Jimmy Jeffries of New Castle; three aunts: Candy (husband: Toby) Stearns of New Castle, Cindy Slaven of New Castle, and Marlene (husband: Richard) Thompson of Mulberry, Florida; several cousins, great aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Herbert Delaine Mitchell; his paternal step-grandfather: Howard Barnett; and an aunt: Rebecca Lee.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in new Castle with Pastor Paul Davis and Reverend Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call 4 – 8 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
